My Top 5 Christmas Movies

I know I wrote about Christmas a few weeks ago, but with the big day just around the corner, I thought I would make one more related blog post.

I love movies. And Christmas is a great time for movies. I even like the cheesy made-for-TV movies where I can predict the ending five minutes into the movie. But when it comes to the best of the best, only a few can make the list. So here are my 5 favorite Christmas movies:

5. Miracle on 34th Street -- A classic. There are several movies out there that try to recapture that "Is Santa real?" question, but none compare to this.

4. Elf -- It's tough to pull off a good Christmas comedy, but this movie makes it work. I'm not a big Will Ferrel guy, but he's great in Elf.

3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas -- I love the cartoon classics: Frosty, the Charlie Brown movies, claymation Rudolph...  but this is my favorite and it HAD to make the list.

2. Die Hard -- Several have argued that this is not a Christmas movie. Well then explain this to me: why do I get a burning desire to watch this movie around this time EVERY year?

1. It's a Wonderful Life -- For me, this was an easy choice. How can you not love this movie? It practically defines what Christmas is all about.

If you haven't seen some of these movies...WATCH THEM! You're missing out otherwise.
