Were you ever in a relationship that wasn't that great, but you stayed in it anyway because you didn't think there were better options out there?
Well that's the best way I can describe what it was like for me to wear tighty-whiteys for almost twenty years. I didn't like it, but I did it because I was oblivious to other undergarments. Hey, if you enjoy wearing TWs, then that's great. One man's cramped is another man's support.
But for me, enough was enough. I tried boxers for a little while, but that was a little too much freedom for me. It wasn't until college that I discovered a true Godsend, boxer-briefs. I haven't looked back since.
Switching out all my underwear is just one of the many clothing changes I made in college and beyond. Gone are the baggy jeans and oversized shirts that I wore infamously in high school. It's no wonder girls found my repulsive. I looked like a douche.
This is what I wore on my first day of high school. Really??? Look how big that shirt is! |
I used to wear baseball caps every chance I got. Now, it's an extreme rarity.
When shopping for jeans, I used to look in the "loose" section. Why?
My shirts with oversized sports logos have been replaced by polos.
I could go on, but you get the idea...
A lot of the credit goes to Ke'o, who was the first girl I liked to tell me some of my clothes looked hideous on me. I'm still never going to win any "best-dressed" awards, but at least now I can look respectable and walk around with a little confidence.

Hey Rye, I thought you always looked nice, and you always had cool tennis shoes. Of course, that is a mother's point of view.
