My First Homeowner's Project

My wife and I have been living in our house for almost half a year now. We love it! One reason we chose this house was because it's only six years old. In other words, it was move-in ready.

Aside from a little landscaping here and a little decorating there, I hadn't made many home improvements. However, that changed this weekend when I installed an over-the-range microwave in our kitchen. It may not have been the most daunting task, but it was the first one that made my wife nervous. So therefore it classified as a "big project."

I'm proud to report the installation was a big success! Our kitchen is a little smaller than I would have preferred, so the extra counter space goes a LONG way. Plus, it simply makes the kitchen look better. (According to HGTV, an OTR microwave adds value to any kitchen.)

There are a few other home improvement projects I hope to make on our home in 2012 that will be more complicated than this one. So this was a good first test for me. Hopefully I can pass the next one too.
