Never Saw Anything Like It

How do I follow up one of the best (and most popular) blog posts I've ever written? I can't. So I'll just take five minutes to write about a revelation I had last week.

Ke'o was sitting on the couch with me watching SportsCenter. (This, in it's self, is a rarity. Because usually when I have anything sports-related on TV, Ke'o camps out on the other side of the house.) They were talking about Lebron James, and showing highlights of him.

Ke'o looked fascinated. She says to me, "He makes it look so easy. It's like he's not even trying."

I responded by saying something unrehearsed -- something that surprised me when it came out...

"From a purely physical standpoint, I think he's the most talented athlete in the history of professional sports."

It's a comment I stand by.

I'm not saying Lebron is the greatest athlete. Or even the greatest basketball player. I'm not looking at stats or other scientific metrics. I just look at him, and my eyeballs tell me he stands apart from any other human being.

Just something to think about...

King James probably has another five, six, seven years of playing at a high level. If he continues this level of dominance, then maybe you can have the conversation about Greatest Of All Time.

But for now, just appreciate what we have -- an opportunity to see what no one else has ever seen before.
