The Next Four Years

Basically my entire life has been broken into four-year segments. If you think about it, yours probably has been too. It just so happens that I'm in the early stages of a new Four-Year span. But before I get to that, let's reflect on the previous four year stretches.

Kindergarten - 3rd Grade (Age 5-9)
A time of enlightenment, fun, and way too many restrictions. Unlike some, I have no desire to be a kid again.

4th Grade - 8th Grade (Age 9-14)
Okay, so this is actually five years, but it actually felt like 11 years because middle school was a time to forget. But these are stories for a therapist I can't afford... Moving on!

High School (Age 14-18)
A very polarizing time in my life. Highs in athletics to lows in social life. I wish I could go back in time and re-do this time period.

College (Age 18-22)
The most incredible four years of my life. Period.

Intro to the Real World (Age 22-26)
Four different cities. Five different jobs. A career change. A marriage. Two Pets. A mortgage. An absolute roller coaster since the moment I was handed a diploma.

The Next Four Years (Age 26-  )
For the first time in my life, I'm not wondering what the next year is going to be like. Because for the first time in my life, I'm enjoying my day-to-day life. An area where I enjoy living. A house to call my own. A job that doesn't make me cringe. A beautiful wife. I feel blessed.

So what will the next four years hold?... Children? Business opportunities? Fantasy football championships? No one knows, but I look forward to what lies ahead of me.
