Room Changes!

Below are some of the projects we've been working on recently. It may not look like much, but we're very pleased with the progress we're making.

TABLE
New Table
Old Table
I had inherited the table on my left from my Grandfather. It served us very well in our apartment life. But we now have the room to upgrade to something bigger and went with the espresso coloring. The New Table also comes with a leaf that is not inserted in the picture.

SMALL ROOM:
From "Pet Room" to Office
Before - North Wall
After - North Wall

Before - Southwest Corner
After - Southwest Corner

We kept the Recliner in the same place, but rotated it to face a different wall. We removed the shelf from the Southwest corner, and moved our TV to be directly in line with the recliner. We bought a little TV stand this time instead of re-mounting the shelf.

The Southwest Corner is occupied by our shared desk. The picture doesn't do it much justice. It looks really crammed, but it's actually very cozy and well organized. (Should have used better lighting.) This room is just about done. We'd like to replace a couple of minor, inexpensive things and then put something on the wall.

LARGER ROOM:
From Office to Spare Bedroom (Eventually)
After - North Wall
Before - North Wall
After - Southeast Corner
Before - Southeast Corner

This room is still a work in progress, and has little purpose for the time being. You can still see our diplomas on the wall which will be moved to the smaller room above our shared desk very soon. One thing we really like is the little table in front of the window on the North Wall. That will stay. As will the bookcase, which you can see the side of. That was the same bookcase previously in our living room.

The big void left by Ke'o's desk in the Southeast Corner will eventually be replaced by our current bed and nightstand. (We should be getting a new bed for our Master sometime in December.)

This room will serve as a spare bedroom for the next two or three years -- but when we're ready to start a family, we'll get rid of the bed and turn it into a nursery.
